From Lockdown Idea to Thriving Business: Our Journey with Myte and Boo
Hey there! Natasha here, co-founder of Myte and Boo, along with my husband Edward. Our journey has been quite the whirlwind, and as we celebrate our second anniversary, I can't help but reflect on how far we've come.
It all started during the challenging times of lockdown. Edward, with his passion for art and his established graphic design business of over two decades, found himself pivoting. As the world urged us to stay home, his office closed, and his staff were furloughed one by one. But Edward persisted, running his business solo from our converted garage-turned-office.
Then came the turning point - the arrival of the laser cutter. Initially purchased for personal projects, it quickly became a beacon of hope for our budding venture. In September 2021, with the world slowly awakening, we decided to explore its potential. With the kids lending a hand, we crafted Christmas decorations and ventured into a school fete to test the waters.
Little did we know, a single design for a friend's travel business would ignite a wildfire of demand. Overnight, 50 orders flooded in, marking the beginning of an unstoppable journey. Two festive seasons later, amidst the chaos, Myte and Boo emerged as a fully-fledged business, spreading joy with every creation.
Today, we've outgrown the garage, upgraded to a larger space, invested in additional equipment, and broadened our product range. With our brand new website and a thriving Instagram community of over 2000 followers, we're poised for our third festive season, brimming with excitement.
What began as a lockdown idea has blossomed into a passion-fueled enterprise, fueled by the smiles we bring to our customers' faces. We're immensely grateful for this journey and excited for what lies ahead.
Thank you for being part of our story.
Warm regards, Natasha & Edward
